RSA issued before December 2006 almost invalid!

The NSW office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing has begun to phase in a new standard for the Responsible Service of Alcohol.
Up until August 2011, the RSA qualification was a paper certificate awarded after completion of an accredited RSA course. Since that date graduates have had to apply for a competency card that will be phased in as the industry standard for everyone working in a licensed venue.
A crucial part of the plan to phase in a higher standard of RSA regulation and qualification is that these paper certificates are slowly becoming invalid. If you have a paper RSA issued before August 2011 your RSA will eventually become invalid and you PERSONALLY will be fined by the police if you are caught serving alcohol on a licensed premise without a valid RSA. At the end of June 2013, all RSA certificates issued before 31st of December 2006 will become invalid, and holders of those RSAs will be in danger of receiving a big personal fine for working with an expired certificate.
